The development of the Global Consensus statement on the Inclusion of Bioethics in Health Professions Education Curriculum was initiated by the UNESCO Global Network for Bioethics, Medical and Health Professions Education.

We, the members of the Global Network for Bioethics, Medical and Health Professions Education, and the WFME President as well as the Presidents of the six WFME Regions, are united in our commitment to embedding ethical principles as a foundation in health professional education.

We affirm our collective determination to place bioethics at the heart of health professions education. By embedding bioethics visibly, consistently and sustainably within curricula, we commit ourselves to shaping future health professionals who act with integrity, compassion, and justice. Through this Global Consensus Statement, we call upon governments, academic institutions, regulatory bodies, researchers and learners to join us in ensuring that health care remains rooted in human dignity and ethical responsibility. In doing so, we seek to prepare future generations of health professions to respond ethically to the evolving challenges of health care e and society.
